Oregon-Based Retailer Suffers Data Breach
Made in Oregon, an Oregon-based retailer, has suffered a data breach that has resulted in the release of sensitive, customer information, including their payment card details. According to the retailer, an unauthorized third party accessed the confidential information through a period from February to August of this year. Along with credit card information, other data accessed by the unauthorized party could include names, billing addresses, email addresses, as well as any other information disclosed to the retailer at time of purchase. In a breach notification to customers, Made in Oregon says it wasn’t aware of any other information being accessed:
Between the first week of February 2020 and the last week of August 2020, an unauthorized party may have gained access to your personal information submitted with your order entered through our website. Working with consultants in computer forensics, we are conducting a thorough review of the potentially affected data and will notify you if there are any significant developments.
